Miyuki also admitted at one point that there were different versions of herself, although she could retain the memories. I think this was because Miyuki knew that if she stuck with the same one then he would start questioning things more, and become harder to control, which she didn't want. I noticed that what was essentially a different version of Shinichi kept being created each day in the final route. But if you choose to see him that way, that's up to you. Shinichi himself later said "I'm not just a puppet". He is going to have these feelings regardless of what you choose. He is jealous, and is bothered by Aoi being with other guys. He is insecure, and lacking in confidence. Shinichi has certain predefined character traits. I know Miyuki said that, but she lied a lot. As far as Shinichi being "just a self insert character", I don't think that's entirely true. I do think your interpretation has merit, even if its not exactly how I see things. I know that jealousy is a pretty common thing, and for many people the idea of "sharing" someone would be a deal breaker, regardless if there was honesty about it or not. (Fun fact: at the beginning of the game I kinda liked Aoi the most because I don't really like tsunderes, but then Miyuki grew up on me and Aoi began to kinda annoy me too.) I only cared about him when he became self-aware too and talked to me at the end about not replaying the game.īut that's just my opinion and how I interpreted the game, I hope it helps you understand at least my thought of process regarding the subject. I tried hard to relate to him, but with Miyuki breaking the 4th wall so often and in key moments it became impossible. As she said, it was just a self-insert character that she could command to do anything she wanted, the real goal of him was to serve as a proxy between us. Regarding the things she did to Shinichi, I don't really care. I can forgive lying and shit, but cheating is off the table whatever the reason. Aoi would still have done the same with or without me in the equation. Add to that the fact that Miyuki would have never snapped if it wasn't because of me, (as she was already self-aware by the time things started going downhill) so I'm the only one to blame about what happened. Aoi on the other hand was asking for something that actually is a deal breaker to me. After all Miyuki just asked what everyone would expect from a partner, to be loyal to them. Now, personally, I just felt more comfortable with the idea of being with Miyuki. With Aoi on the other hand, I get he feeling of being in a position of giving unconditional love, even if there's bad (ntr-bad) stuff as her message is pretty much "I love you, but I will need to always cheat on you and sleep around with other guys, will you accept it?", a thought that actually bothers Shinichi in the game. Being with Miyuki is being in a position of receiving unconditional love even if it comes with bad (sick-bad) stuff I mean, her message is: "I love you and would do anything for you, just don't leave me nor cheat on me", something pretty common with the yandere trope (which I actually like). Idk about others, but to me the two of them represent really powerful stances. This is probably gonna be pretty long so please bear with me.
